Bloody Murder

I'm overwhelmed with sadness and disgust that the peace loving Monks of Burma, who's whole philosophy and outlook on life is one of harming nothing, are being slaughtered ,while the pathetic cretins of the UN sit around discussing resolutions. "It's bad" as my eleven year old just said, "they're just protesting, so they should be allowed to do it" he went on to say, he followed up with, " they believe in reincarnation though, so they'll come back again". I guess that's all that keeps me from breaking down, they have a faith, it must help them. If you follow that through then the murdering bastards who killed them will at least be taken down a notch on their return. Shit munching bacteria I hope! Of course that's if you believe in all that, I sincerely hope the murderers do!

Cheers up, Monica. There are some nice people in the world. You're one!

Sometimes you have to step away from what is happening in the world, take a break. You have your garden. Involve yourself in it, enjoy its here and now, the bees, birds, the wind in the trees, the warmth of the sun.

Buddhists don't expect all that much from life or others. They're smart.

Hear, hear. Nothing good will come from any of this. If I sit and think about it long enough I can honestly see my life ending by a weapon of mass destruction before I die of old age/disease. But this is why we don't sit around and think about these things - life is too beautiful and too precious to ponder such atrocity. By all means, respect and honour those thta have fallen but then pick yourself up with something you enjoy doing. Could be playing with your kids (or in my case stroking my cat) or something as simple as admiring the beauty of a tree, a skyline or a seascape. Even the TV cheers me up sometimes! And indulge yourself in the odd guilty pleasure - mine's a few rashers of bacon (ironic huh?!)

Dan you're right they are smart. Went looking for a goat yesterday. Thinking about making some cheese.
Thanks.
@johnski,don't mention cats, stood on one of the ginger poofs offerings in the dark this morning in bare feet... yuk!
in the words of Homer S, "B A C O N...ummmmm"

It has been terrible watching these brave people demonstrating despite knowing the consequences. After the Internet and communication with the outside world was cut off, it is scary to think just what the Junta is up to there behind closed doors.

Read last night that they had been taking the monks out and executing them in the Jungle. Words fail me!

Dark forces swirl inside us all, Monica. Beware the enemy within!

Create your own fortress, somewhere you can retreat to, where you're safe. Cheers.

Hey, Monica, I've changed tack a bit on the Movement thingee. For some reason it just wasn't happening. I'll leave the idea there and the principles, see what happens.

Perhaps people just don't want to become involved, don't want to run the risk of being identified as dissenters by the minions of Big Brother.

Perhaps it's the religion thing as you pointed out. Taking away the soothing dummy of religion is rejected by some even when it's obvious that religion is divisive.

Then, perhaps folk don't want to give up materialism, even if it's destroying our world.

Who'd know? Thanks for your help anyway! Cheers.

Hi Guys
Been absorbed with the garden and chickens last month. Have also dabbled in distillation of some apple jack from the cider we made and i'm proud to say it's actually top notch grog. Illegal as well.... yahoo!

You're a renegade, Nigel, a happy one at that. Don't let the demon drink get you, well, not too much.

Life for me is going well, blog is moving along, hits are up, we do what we can.

Take care!
