Star trek? why not.....

With excitement I find today that Daniel at Seeking Utopia has instigated a movement whose soul purpose is the betterment of life on Earth for all the peoples of the World. It is my belief that this pioneering movement could be the fundamental basis for a new world order. The only sensible option in a World who's nations seem hell bent on destroying each other. I for one hope to offer as much assistance as I can.
It seems such a simple idea, people of the World united as one and equally sharing it's bounty. A concept that is not really new and an idea that would seem entirely logical to any sound minded individual.
So why has it not happened? Well in my humble opinion its because of fear. Fear of change. So where does Star Trek come into all this..? If you ignore the fact that it's fiction and apply it to today's Earth, then Earth would be the planet whose inhabitants are not united. Unlike The Rhomulin, the Vulcans, the Borg, The Klingon, etc etc. What would they call us? Earthlings perhaps? What do we call ourselve?, British, Australians, Americans, Arabs? But not what we really are...HUMANS! They would see us fighting each other over the planets bounty and as such a prime and easy target for invasion. How would we as a planet respond ? We would have to unite or be destroyed. Of course this is a scenario played out in many books and films so why has it not happened, what are we waiting for.

I think that the time has come. It's plain for anyone to see that the present system is not working for the benefit of majority of people on Earth. We have been invaded.. not from space maybe, but from the inside... our minds have been invaded. People have been invaded by religion that has no basis in fact or science, people have been invaded by capitalism and greed, purporting happiness but creating misery, by Nationalism....Earthlings minds have been invaded by as many isms as you can shake a stick at. So my friends its time for a change. Its time that Life on Earth becomes what it should be, living instead of surviving....

It's time to GET A LIFE ON EARTH. Join the Utopians. We cant promise that everything will be perfect but it just might be...

Hey, Monica, got you latest post but will reply to aspects of it via email.

The religion thing is a difficult one I agree. We can't seem to wean people off 2,000 year old superstitions even though demonstrably they cause much of the conflict in the world.

I'll be in touch shortly about that issue and the others.

Take care.

P.S. After careful thought I published your excellent comment and replied to it on S.U.

We have many issues to resolve before we go public!

P.P.S. Do you have info on these Utopian communities?
